Age-Friendly Communities
The city’s zoning code establishes a senior housing overlay zone (SHO) to incentivize the development of accessible, mixed-use senior housing (§19.86). The regulation contains affordability requirements for developments located inside of and outside of designated redevelopment areas (§19.86.050). It also sets development criteria, including universal design standards (§19.86.080(e)).
